SSAT
The Secondary School Admissions Test, or SSAT, is an admissions test governed by the Enrollment Management Association in the United States. It is often administered to students from grade 3-11 to determine qualification level to enter a particular school.
The test is administered in 3 separate levels: Elementary Level (EL) for students in grades 3 and 4 applying to schools for 4th or 5th grade classes, Middle Level (ML) for students in 5th through 7th grade applying for entry to 6th-8th grade schools, and Upper Level (UL) for students in grades 8-11 seeking entry to grades 9-12.
The SSAT exam consists of a writing sample followed by two quantitative sections, a verbal section, and a reading section. Additionally, there is an “experimental” section of questions that are unscored, but used for the future development of new tests.
